Business Development Representative (BDR)

Founded in 2006, Fonix provides mobile payments and messaging services for clients across media, telecoms, entertainment, enterprise and commerce. Based in London, Fonix is a publicly listed company transacting over £250m of payments per year and is proud to name Bauer, ITV, BT, Channel 5, Comic Relief, Daily Mail Group and Global Radio as clients.

Fonix is looking for two Business Development Representatives to help grow mobile payments, one with a focus on the Charity sector, introducing Fonix's solutions to the UK's biggest charitable efforts and the other with a focus on Digital Services which can be anything from paying for Gym Membership to buying a cinema ticket or finding a date on a dating app!

You will be working with a group of highly motivated individuals who enjoy achieving results under pressure and work hard to achieve their goals. You will be expected to gain a good understanding of the business and have a “can do'' attitude to assisting in various tasks alongside your main role.

Duties will focus on:

  • Generating leads in the Charity Sector through email, outbound calls, LinkedIn and trade events using relevant networking tools
  • Identifying and qualifying sales opportunities, understand Charity prospects’ needs and fit with Fonix solutions
  • Building the top of the sales funnel with creativity and innovation
  • Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders, contributing to Product and Tech strategies
  • Supporting the Commercial Team on the overall sales strategy
  • Working closely with a Commercial Manager to bring on new clients

Person specification:

  • Some commercial experience - working in the charity, payments or technology sector is preferable but not compulsory
  • Entrepreneurial, go-getter attitude - someone who makes things happen
  • Confident, self-starter who is energetic, resilient and eager to pick up the phone - Sales is hard work!
  • Strong desire to be a key part of Fonix
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skils
